Vega IV

Vega IV (also known as Alpha Lyrae IV or simply Vega) was a planet located close to the center of Federation space in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant at coordinates 2.66N 2.48W, the fourth planet in orbit of the Vega star system visible from Earth in the constellation of Lyra.

History and specifics[]

Vega was home to a vast amount of ancient ruins which some 23rd century scientists believe belonged to the Vegan Tyranny, although that remains unconfirmed.

In the 23rd century, Vega IV was home to a Federation colony, a noted center for culture, arts and entertainment that served as a major trade port between neighboring star systems. Vega IV's nightlife is also known to be amongst the most festive and exciting in the quadrant. By reference stardate 2/2306.01, the world had a population of 5.76 billion individuals, mostly Human or humanoid, and the government was a full-status colonial member of the Federation.

Most of the planet's population live in the developed northern continent, whilst the southern continent has been left undeveloped so that scientists could continue to study the ruins and discover about the planet's original inhabitants. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)

In the late 23rd century, the Vega Prime 1 space station was placed in orbit for the Terran Science Foundation to study interstellar gas and plasma. (FASA RPG module: Regula-1 Orbital Station Deckplans)
